There has been so much interest recently in the search for Shackleton’s ‘Endurance’ in the Weddell Sea, that I thought I would give a summary of this remarkable, heroic expedition.
6/3/19 I have just received this comment a which I think sums the expedition up:Comment: Extremely interesting and very informative. It gives a vivid picture of the extreme hardship and conditions suffered by Shackleton and his courageous team. What determination and extreme courage they possessed.
Isobel – really interesting. Thank you.
Thank you. This expedition seems to be regularly in the news at the moment
Very interesting about Shackleton expedition, you can only imagine the bravery and endurance of Shackleton and his whole crew.
Lovely insight from Isobel.
Thank you. Your comments are appreciated.
Really interested Isobel.
Isobel – A concise but very clear account of the severe difficulties experienced by Shacklelton and his men during the expedition. That they all survived is remarkable.
Insightful account of Shackleton’s ability to adapt to the unexpected. His leadership skills are much needed today.
It seems that only now, during the recent attempt to locate ‘Endurance’s’ resting place in the Weddell Sea, that explorers and scientists have truly appreciated the conditions that Shackleton’s crew must have gone through -and the amazing, positive stance that Shackleton maintained throughout this “Trial of Job”
This has really opened my eyes to the difficulties that they experienced and their courage. Well spoken Isobel
A graphic illustration of how inspirational leadership and a heroic team effort can overcome near insurmountable odds. Must read more

Both interesting and thorough!
Thank you Purdey That’s a nice comment
True leadership!
Thank you. This was the expedition where Shackleton really showed his leadership qualities—a number of his men actually volunteered to return with him on his final expedition in the 1920s in spite of the horrors they had experienced on ‘Endurance’.
